Macbook Air: Setting the New Standard

What comes across when first seeing this laptop is its stunningly sleek design. The laptop known as the Macbook Air is now setting the standard for all Ultra-Portable Notebooks. Weighing at approximately 1.36 Kg, and equipped with 2GB RAM, Core 2 Duo and a 13-inch LED screen this notebook brings with it a whole new meaning of portability.

The Macbook Air is expected to have a battery life of 5 hours of wireless time making it great for those constantly on the road. The Notebook also comes equipped with a 64 GB solid state drive which helps it preserve its battery life. With a powerful CPU, tons of RAM, and light portability we think the Macbook Air is going to be setting the pace for all its competitors.

Although this Notebook goes for a pretty penny ($2,499), when comparing this with other similar sub-compact notebooks which range in price from 3-4k, this laptop has great value.

Rumors of an Ultraportable Mac

Several rumors have been going around about the possibilities of an ultraportable Mac. The sub-notebook will supposedly be lacking an optical drive and come with or have the option of an external optical drive. Other rumors of a multitouch trackpad with capabilities like that of the iPhone, with swiping and zooming.

The most interesting rumor, and perhaps the most far-fetched, is that the ultraportable will have a docking station. The docking station will resemble the iMac desktop PC. But this desktop will have a docking station on the side that the ultraportable Mac will simply slide into. This would be like having a desktop PC and an ultraportable notebook in one.

These are still Rumors of an Ultraportable Mac, but I would be surprised if we dont see an ultraportable Mac at Macworld 2008 with all the hype going around.

Laptop Rentals for Graphic Design

Graphic designers have long had an affinity for Apple Laptops when it comes to personal computer of choice for their work, due in large part to the software that comes with the system. Apple long ago decided that they wanted to design their computers with the artist in mind, and it shows. With their iLife software, editing images, music, and movies is a breeze. Macs used to suffer due to a lack of processor speed, but they now have Intel chips which have solved the problem nicely.

Yet Windows-based PCs such as the Ultra-Portable HP P Compaq 2510p Laptop Rental have caught up to Macs in many areas and surpassed them in others when it comes to design. It's true, Windows isn't quite as artsy as OS X, but two of the best 3D design programs in mind, 3D Studio Max and Maya are not yet available on a Macintosh. Windows-based PCs feature ease of upgradability that is entirely lacking from Macs as well, allowing you to cherry pick and create the system you need for the task you want to perform.

In the end there are those who could argue all day and all night about Mac versus PC, Microsoft versus Apple, but the fact is that at this point in time both choices are equally viable for today's professional graphic designer or hobbyist. Adobe owns nearly every good graphic design software product available on today's market, and they all function well on both platforms. RentOurLaptops.com isn't going to tell you which is better because maybe the answer is both, what we will do is offer a full line of both Apple Laptop Rentals and Windows Laptop Rentals, and we'll let you decide which is best for you.
